The Alverton

Friends were commissioned by the Cornwall Hotel Collection and tasked with rebranding The Alverton, a unique grade II listed hotel located in the heart of the Cathedral city of Truro.

The design brief was extensive and included all aspects of brand evolution, starting with brand strategy, brand identity and a set of full brand guidelines through to stationery, collateral, website design, uniforms, signage and much more.

The brand identity had to reflect the hotel itself, a rare combination of exquisite, intuitive four star service and intelligent aspirational innovation. Friends also created a branding palette that could be as sensitive to the needs of the guests as well as the hotel itself – witty and engaging at times, discreet when required and always beautiful, warm and welcoming. The sheer level of detail within this rebrand project was exciting, Friends have worked painstakingly on every aspect from the menu in guests’ hand to the table they sit at, the flowers in the hallway to the staff uniforms. No detail has been left un-turned to ensure the brand message is consistent and to enhance the guests experience at The Alverton.

During the summer of 2013 The Alverton was awarded it’s 4* from the AA, becoming the first 4* hotel in Truro. The Alverton has scooped numerous awards since it’s relaunch back in 2012 and can now look forward to delighting a new generation of guests for many years to come.
